Attorney
Tiffany E. Monroe
After many self-assessments, I have discovered that my gift is helping others. Over the years, the way in which I help others has evolved.
Helping Others in my Career:
As an attorney, I currently help major U.S. corporations meet their diversity initiatives by acting as outside counsel for patent preparation and prosecution services. I also help individuals protect and preserve their ownership in intellectual property through successions, donations, and wills.
As an engineer in the nuclear industry, I helped replace and protect nuclear plant equipment to shield the public in surrounding areas from radiation exposure.
As an engineer in the defense industry, I helped develop and test products that allowed military personnel to navigate terrains worldwide.
Helping Others in my Community:
I help individual taxpayers each tax season by volunteering as a Site Coordinator and tax preparer through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
I was a part of the 2019 inaugural class of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Legal Innovators for Tomorrow (LIFT) Incubator Flood Proof Project. Through this 18-month project, I helped underserved communities resolve heir property and home ownership disputes caused by the historic 2016 Louisiana Floods.
Helping Others in the Next Generation of Intellectual Property Professionals:
As an adjunct professor at the Southern University Law Center, I helped direct and guide the next generation of intellectual property professionals by offering instruction and career advice in the Copyright Law, Patent Law, and Intellectual Property Law courses.
